About David Voigt

I have a strong understanding of learning and teaching with technology, business communication technology, assessment data gathering and report data, media creation, distance education, online learning, video conferencing, and the IT environment. I like to work with people and technologies and explore/apply new learning paradigms in order to engage people and enable effective teaching, communication, and learning. Currently, I am responsible for the oversight and management of digital audio-visual and data collection systems (CAE LearningSpace). I work closely with a team of professional educators, researchers, and trainers to coordinate course sessions and tests to teach and assess health science students’ clinical skills.I supported Online Learning and Academic Technology for Normandale Community College in Bloomington, Minnesota as an Instructional Technologist/Trainer. I supported the development, implementation, and maintenance of online, hybrid, and blended courses using D2L Brightspace as our LMS (and a variety of third-party tools). I managed a Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) a faculty media lab/training center where we promote effective instructional design and tools to promote learning. I lead training sessions on course design, digital course development, audio and video media creation, and its appropriate use in a blended digital learning environment. Previously, I worked for Dorsey and Whitney LLP, an international law firm headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I worked closely with Partners and Management to effectively communicate internally and externally using a variety of broadcast tools, meeting room technologies, and a variety of digital tools. I produced live and recorded media supporting firm-wide administration, professional development, and outreach. A big part of my work there was to coordinate, maintain, and facilitate videoconferencing equipment and its use to internal and external sites around the world.
