It started when I was 12 years old and I had the vision of being a professional baseball player. I wanted a batting cage in my backyard. My parents couldn’t afford it so I wrote my goal down on a piece of paper, and vowed to make it happen. I delivered newspapers in all types of weather for an entire year until I saved enough to purchase the machine. Despite the cold, the rain, people not paying me, I kept the vision and goal in the forefront and refused to make excuses. I NEVER GAVE UP.I entered the New York State Police as a State Trooper in 1998 and rose through the ranks to Captain until retirement in 2020. I was promoted from State Trooper to Investigator. Then I was promoted to Sergeant and again promoted to Lieutenant and ultimately promoted to Captain. Becoming a Leader to many and handling ADVERSITY became a daily occurrence in my 22-year career.Earlier during my career everything changed…. forever. My best friend who was also a State Trooper was shot and killed in the line of duty. My MINDSET shifted to how precious life is and the importance of having a sense of URGENCY in life and all we do because it can all be taken away in an instance.After recognizing the impact my best friend had on me, I realized the importance of adding value to others and making an impact on them. In 2010 my wife Kristen and I started a direct selling business. The vast majority of people told us it wouldn’t work and were very negative as we stepped into the industry. Through personal GROWTH, overcoming ADVERSITY, having a VISION, and a sense of URGENCY I became a million-dollar earner within the company working part time. It was life changing and I learned how important a powerful MINDSET is needed to achieve any goal. I have been sharing my stories from childhood to present day and how the importance of VISION, MINDSET and URGENCY apply to them all.

David became a Independent Team Beachbody Coach in 2010.David's success in Team Beachbody led him to becoming a million dollar earner in their Legacy Club, an 8 Star Diamond Coach, ranked in the top 1/2 % of the company of 400,000 Coaches and currently personally leads a team of approximately 1,400 Coaches today.

David entered the New York State Police Academy in November 1998. During his 22 year tenure with the New York State Police David rose through the ranks retiring as a State Police Captain. His assignment was Zone Commandeer which overlooked all State Police operations for the entire County of Westchester, NY.David received some of the highest Citations and Awards with the New York State Police such as Trooper of the Year and Investigator of the Year. He was a Trooper from 1998-2004 where he was then appointed to the rank of Investigator in the State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI). He achieved the permanent rank of Sergeant in 2006 while in the BCI and handled some high profile homicide cases such as the case of Werner Lippe. https://newyork.cbslocal.com/tag/werner-lippe/. David was then promoted to Lieutenant on 2012 where he served as both a BCI Lieutenant and Uniform Lieutenant. During his tenure as a Lieutenant David overlooked a specialized unit that handled cases involving organized crime, money laundering, racketeering, drug and gang networks. Wiretaps and large scale arrest takedowns were often part of David's operations in this unit.David completed his career when he was appointed to the rank of Captain overlooking all State Police operations in Westchester County, NY. Part of David's supervision was the Hudson Valley Traffic Management 911 Center where approximately 400,000 cellular 911 calls are received each year.During David's final months with the State Police he was the Incident Commander for the 2020 US Open at Winged Foot. David overlooked all safety and security measures for the entire US Open.

Captain David Atkins was the Incident Commander for the 2020 US Open at Winged Foot Golf Club. He led the entire law enforcement operation for the US Open. Even though the event did not have spectators due to COVID 19 the security infrastructure had to be in place for this event that was broadcast in over 150 countries throughout the world. He worked closely with the USGA to ensure a successful and safe US Open.
