I’ve always been excited by having to come up a learning curve under pressure, building effective partnerships across functions and hierarchies, and establishing credibility through quick wins, while making clear progress towards longer-term strategic goals. That’s why I’m focusing my energies on project or interim Human Resources Executive coverage opportunities at this stage in my career (plus it gives me more time to spend out on the river!).I’m politically aware but apolitical in approach, understanding individual motivations and engaging in good faith. I bring data to bear in ways that enable focus. I build processes and teams that maximize impact. These are the things I’m best known for. They’ve helped me have meaningful impact in organizations of widely different scale, ranging from small organizations of around 300 to much larger organizations in excess of 300,000. They’ve helped me be effective in organizations at different stages of development, including start-up, market transformation, rapid growth, turnaround, merger and acquisition, divestiture, and outsourcing. They’ve also allowed me to lead effectively in organizations with differing levels of Human Resources function capability.
