Designed evaluation boards for cell phone baseband ICs. Included interfacing with system architects, chip designers, and board layout houses aroundthe world. Design work included gathering and writing hardware requirements documents,schematic capture (Orcad), and board component placement (Allegro). Performed basic layoutreview using Allegro PCB layout for high-speed signals. Design work included writing layout constraints and performing routing of DSP ARM processors to DDR2 memory critical nets; setting up simulations for signal integrity resolution. Archived all project data using Freescale Agile.

• Designed, built and debugged an emulation system for the Motorola HC12, HC16, HC332 microcontrollers, a multiple circuit board emulation system that included the design and Verilog coding of a 100k gate Toshiba gate array. This emulation system was used in the sale of over 1M HC12, HC16 and HC332 microcontrollers.

Lead digital designer engineer for a switching power supply mixed signal control board.Lead design from pilot to production including onsite support in Taiwan and China.

• Developed low-level architecture and Verilog RTL unit design from architectural specifications. Completed logic simulation and static timing analysis, gate level synthesis, and validation of custom logic for wireless communications processor peripherals. Part of a large complex ARM and DSP multiprocessor system on a chip (SOC) was used on Motorola’s (3G) cell phones.• Developed micro-architecture and completed design and gate level synthesis of custom logic for a datapath bus bridge, between a Motorola McORE high speed asynchronous microprocessor bus and its asynchronous peripherals.• Developed the low-level architecture and the Verilog RTL design for an alternate bus master to be used for a customer evaluation design along with the Motorola McORE 210 processor. This customer evaluation kit was used to negotiate an entrance into the Chinese communications market.
