Past president of EFCLIN and Past Chairman of the ACLM (UK contact lens industry trade association). Past council member of BCLA (British Contact Lens Association).Involved in the contact lens industry since 1972 and the intraocular lens industry since the early 1990s. For 30 years he was the Managing Director of Vista Optics Limited a specialist supplier of raw materials for both contact lenses and intraocular lenses. Vista was recognised by the British Quality Foundation as a winner of the UK Quality Award in 2000, the first small manufacturer to receive this accolade and remains one of the few SME manufacturers to receive the recognition.David has been involved in the running of the company's Quality Management System since the inception of the Medical Devices Directive and is a member of the influential Euromcontact Regulatory Affairs Working Group. He has always viewed Quality Management as a profit centre within organisations rather than as a legal requirement, and his approach is to produce a cost effective Quality Management System that works towards customer satisfaction and delight! David is presently an advisor to the holding company of mark'ennovy the Madrid based contact lens manufacturer, is a Board member of EFCLIN and a member of the Euromcontact Regulatory Affairs Working Group.
