I've been in construction for over 20 years I Started working as a ground worker, was told to learn on the ground first before operating plant. And i will tell you something, the best advice I've ever had. It gave me a better understanding in operating excavators on site. I'm the type of man who sits up the back of the team briefing saying nothing, I go out do the talking on the levers I've been on some of the biggest jobs within the UK and worked on some of the worst ground conditions within the UK operating anything from 3ton to 20 ton & 50 ton excavators, to longreaches and wide spreads. I'm not limited to one job, all grade, a can do batters, can work on peat. A can do roads or foundation deep drainage, cross country pipe lines, sheet Pilling, you name it I can turn my hand to anything . On a tracked excavator my attitude is get the job done but to be safe aswell.
