KW International was ranked 25th in the Sunday TimesFast Track 100 in 2002.1993: Co-founded consultancy business that provided ground-breaking power trading and risk management advice to the newly deregulated Nordic power market. During this period, KW International (KWI) whilst working for the power division of Norsk Hydro, invented the “Profit at Risk” (PAR) risk methodology to capture the correlated price and volume risk inherent in the Nordic hydro generation system. This methodology became an energy industry standard and is today also referred to as Earnings at Risk or Asset at Risk.1996: Developed and launched Elrisk, an Excel-based application to support trading on the newly established Oslo Power Futures Exchange.1997: Developed and launched KW2000, the first commercially available generic power sector trading and risk management system.1997 – 2004 : KWI raised £9m of venture capital in October 2001 to fund overseas expansion. Sales grew at 108% a year from £973,000 in 1998 to £8.8m in 2001, when the company had 150 + staff in its offices in London, Basle, Stockholm, Sydney, Houston and Idaho. Key member of the team that designed and developed the first commercially distributed digital dealing room technology. Developed under C / Unix this technology enabled digital price data from a single price feed (e.g Reuters, Telerate) to be cascaded via a hierarchy of servers to 700+ dealer screens in real-time.
