What I do:I provide pensions consultancy services to a portfolio of clients, mostly in respect of self-administered defined benefit schemes. I manage the transition of assets for clients, minimising cost and out-of-market exposure wherever possible. I was responsible for restructuring the annuity broking service offered by Kerr Henderson (Consultants and Actuaries) Limited ("KHCA") when integrating this with an online open market annuity service and liaising with investment managers to develop a convenient and reliable investment management reporting system for KHCA.Areas of expertise:I help clients manage the ever increasing demands being placed on trustee boards and sponsoring employers. I provide secretarial services to trustee boards ensuring that appropriate advice is taken where necessary and trustee decisions are recorded accurately. I also provide or facilitate training for Trustees where required.Having worked in the pensions industry for over 13 years I have experience of the full range of pensions administration, accounting and risk management issues facing trustees and employers.One of my areas of interest is international benefits, where I advise on cross-border pensions issues.Education / Professional Qualifications:I graduated from the University of Stirling in 2002 with an honours degree in Management Science before completing an MSc in Finance at Queen’s University Belfast in 2003. I became an Associate of the Pensions Management Institute in 2009, following completion of my Advanced Diploma in Retirement Provision and was elected a Fellow of the Institute in 2015.I hold a Diploma in International Employee Benefits and in 2010 became a member of the International Employee Benefits Association.I gained my Investment Management Certificate from the CFA Society of the UK in 2010 and my CISI Level 4 Diploma in Investment Advice (Private Client Advice) in December 2013.
