Configured new products into the Kenan Arbor/BP system for the Winstar Federal GSA contract. Primary focus was on creating new product lines, recurring/non-recurring charges and usage rates for the products and services. Performed unit and system testing. Heavy use of Unix and SQL*PlusDeveloped an MS Access front end to the Kenan Arbor/BP database that was more efficient than the one provided by Kenan. Worked with configuring taxes and journals for products. The configuration of these products was done via MS Excel spreadsheets. Created several VBA macros to assist in creating additional entries and to perform error checking routines.
Concert:Tested a web-based ordering system (Eclipse). This system was to mimic the AT&T ordering system so Concert ordering representatives could order AT&T products while tracking the order on a Concert database. Documented test plans and results to the development team. As a result of the tests, it was determined that the application could not satisfactorily mimic the AT&T process. The development was discontinued and the project was dropped.Documented the custom, web-based network tracking application (Service Vista) as the sole developer of the application was leaving the organization. Learned basic JavaScript, ASP web authoring, VBScript, server side scripting, database connectivity to the web, SNMP network protocol and several other network protocols in order to produce the document. Investigated many third party applications that were used in the creation of Service Vista.AT&T:Provided production support for a mainframe, COBOL-based commercial long distance billing system. On call to detect, analyze and correct system problems. Created SQL queries to retrieve data from db2 and SQL Server databases.Updated JCL and COBOL programs. Processed customer adjustments.Represented the Production Support team to help resolve non-system impacting issues, i.e. bill display, rating, and discounting errors.Developed GUI application to track work requests using a SQL Server and Visual Basic. The application allowed multiple users to input new work requests, report status and timed worked on work requests and provided status reports to management. Also worked on a special project to clean up and redesign the District web site using MS FrontPage98.Performed requirements analysis for a billing and for database system. Gathered and documented requirements.Presented walkthroughs to the development and test teams.Tested release installments.
