I am currently the Chairman of Albert Trading Ltd, an independent Non-Executive Director of PPP Holdings, and an independent Non-Executive Director of STR Marketing Ltd.I have been a member of the Rotary Club of Port Louis since 1991 and a member of the Mauritius Institute of Directors since its inception.I have been awarded an OSK in 2003 and a CSK in 2007 for services to trade, industry and services to the community. I established Courts (Mauritius) Ltd which traded as Mammouth in 1985. I took on the responsibility of Courts Madagascar in 2005 and opened the first branch in continental Africa (Kenya) in 2012. I remained as CEO until 2013. Courts was the number one retail and consumer credit company in Mauritius, and became synonymous with the island's economic growth and prosperity. Courts was an extremely successful household name and brought extensive, island-wide innovations in marketing, communications, Human Resources and Corporate Social Responsibility to the country. Courts was the first company, in 1990, to undertake a public flotation before becoming a member of the Stock Exchange of Mauritius. The Boards of Directors were diversified, with strong ethnic representation across communities and genders. This diversity reflected the image of the company.
