With vehicles with both manual and automatic transmission and a host of vehicle adaptations for those with physical issues. These include a ring accelerator, a left foot accelerator, pull push hand controls and lodgesons steering aids with wireless secondary controls.

Managing a team that delivers training for drivers of all experience levels to drive off road in a range of different tradional and modern off road vehicles.

I am a provider for the National Driver Alertness Course scheme. As an alternative to court prosecution the police refer drivers to the scheme.It is offered to some drivers who are deemed to have been involved in 'driving without due care and attention' incidents. These incidents may include being involved in an incident/crash or using a mobile phone when drivingSince that time the scheme has been successfully implemented by some 40 plus police forces in partnership with local authorities and the private sector.The course is held over one day, comprising of four hours of theory and approximately three and a half hours of practical on-road tuition.All the training is conducted by specially selected and trained Approved Driving Instructors (ADIs) that also hold the DSA Fleet Driver Training qualificationTo successfully complete the course a client must:•Attend all sessions•Complete all course paperwork•Make a positive contribution to the course•Show a willingness to improve their driving•A driver who successfully completes the course is referred back to the police and no further action is taken – no points, no fine.

Delivering Classroom training for workskills and functional skills maths and English at levels 2, 3 and 4.

There are three tests you have to successfully complete to become a fully qualified driving instructor. My role was to ensure that each potential instructor was fully prepared for each test.Part One – Driving Theory & Hazard PerceptionThe exam consists of 100 multiple choice questions on subjects ranging from The Highway Code, instructional techniques, the law, disabilities and questions on the driving test. There is also a hazard perception test at the end of the theory test, this is a virtual drive on the computer where you have to recognise potential hazards and react quickly. The test is conducted in Theory Test Centres throughout the UK. Tests can be booked for either weekdays or weekends.Part Two – Your Driving AbilityA practical test of your driving skills. For an hour, you will be asked to demonstrate you can drive in the style that you will teach your pupils. There is no commentary required, just a return to the basics of good safe driving. You will be expected to carry out various manoeuvres, as would a learner driver. The main difference between a Part 2 test and a pupil’s driving test is that you will be limited to six minor errors. Part 2 tests are conducted at designated Driving Test Centres throughout the UK.Part Three – Your Ability to TeachThis is a practical test which lasts for 1 hour. The examiner will set you a task to teach a pupil at a particular standard, and he/she will use role-play, acting the part of the pupil. Once you have briefed the ‘pupil’ on the subject, you will then be expected to spot any mistakes, explain the reasons behind them, and to suggest remedial action in order to prevent recurrence. Above all, the examiner is looking for you to come across as friendly, patient, knowledgeable and understanding.
