I've been practicing law since 1983, and I have assumed a compliance and ethics role everywhere I have been. My position as Chief Compliance Officer is the culmination of that journey. It has proven to be a good fit. I have wide-ranging responsibilities, with new case law and CFPB interpretations coming out on a weekly, if not daily basis. I am responsible for compliance of a vast array of processes, from letter content to telephone messages to how we prepare pleadings and settle cases. And it affects consumers, our clients, and our firm. We are doing our best to develop or discover best practices to protect the interests of both consumers and our clients, to implement them, & to assure compliance with them.
