I am an experienced servant leader, currently serving as an software engineering and operations director. While I have a broad background in Oracle database administration, architecture, and development, and Linux administration, my greatest passion as I enter the latter stages of my career is to develop others and prepare them for future success. I am an avid observer of other leaders, learning as much from negative leadership as I do from positive.I am an avid lifelong learner, who has worked full-time throughout my collegiate career...which is still ongoing. I have an undergrad in Christian Leadership and Theology from William Jessup University, an MBA from Liberty University, and I am currently a doctoral candidate in Strategic Leadership at Liberty University. One of my life mantras is "I do not know, what I do not know". So, I constantly seek to fill these knowledge gaps through academics, books, mentoring, or other means. The final phase in my Doctorate in Strategic Leadership is my research project will will examine the impact of servant leadership on contingent workforces. My dad was always a servant leader, though he never held a management position in his career which was primarily repairing water lines for our city. He served people outside of work continuously, and taught me and my siblings the importance of serving others, usually when no one was watching; humility was a big part of who he was. The greatest revelation of his servant heart came at his funeral when a tiny church could not contain the people that came to celebrate his life. It was there that stranger after stranger took the mic to share how my dad had served. He made an impact in people's lives that will perpetuate for generations.My goal in everything I do is to serve, support, and develop others to the best of my ability, so that my influence as an ethical leader will perpetuate well beyond my career and my life. Robert K. Greenleaf's words serve as my beacon, "The best test [of a servant-leader], and difficult to administer, is: Do those served grow as persons? Do they, while being served, become healthier, wiser, freer, more autonomous, more likely themselves to become servants? And, what is the effect on the least privileged in society; will they benefit, or, at least, not be further deprived?"
