· Developed flow cytometry-based assays that have been used for chemical and genetic screening· Executed multiple genome-wide CRISPR pool screens in both patient derived cells and immortalized AAV producing cells and preformed follow-up array screens· Created PCR, qPCR, and ddPCR assays for two different trinucleotide repeat disorder diseases; developed SOPs that are critical for assessing disease severity and dual guide deletion efficiency· Managed flow cytometry resources including 3 analyzers (Canto II, LSR II, and Cytoflex LX) and 2 sorters (Fusion and Melody); proficient on multiple cytometers; established rapport with external flow support personnel· Provided flow cytometry training and developed flow-based assays for many scientists; received 4 VOCAP awards for collaborative contributions · Implemented the use of ATAC-seq on patient derived cells which provided useful feedback in our therapeutic strategy

· Mentored by Dr. Leonard Zon, a HHMI scientist, with a history of transitioning basic research into clinical treatments · Identified the Thyroid hormone pathway as an important regulator of globin switching using in vivo chemical screen· Developed ChIP-seq protocol for the Thyroid hormone receptors (THRs) and multiple epigenetic markers; determined that THRs directly bind to the globin locus and are associated with localized changes in H3K27ac· Genetically manipulated (shRNA and CRISPR) THRs in immortalized and primary erythroid cell lines derived from HSCs· Mentored and trained 4 technicians and 1 summer student

· Co-mentored by Dr. Victoria Bautch, a distinguished professor with expertise in cell culture and mouse models of angiogenesis, and Dr. Suk-Won Jin, an expert in hematopoiesis· Screened for novel angiogenic factors using a candidate-based approach and identified the BMP pathway as a VEGF-independent regulator· Identified that BMP signaling regulates branching morphogenesis in zebrafish, mouse, and human endothelial cell cultures· Research led to 4 publications (2 first author), work stemming from my dissertation is still the primary focus of both labs· Lead and directed research projects in both labs, mentored an undergraduate student and trained multiple graduate students and postdoctoral fellows
