I have spent the first 8 years of my career working in the offshore oil and gas industry; 3 years as a commercial diver and 5 years as an ROV pilot/technician. My experience working as a commercial diver taught me the importance of properly using and maintaining critical life support equipment while utilizing subsea hydraulic tools to perform subsea construction projects. My most recent experience working as an ROV pilot/supervisor has allowed me to be directly involved in complex, offshore, deepwater oil mining operations which has taught me how to effectively lead and manage a team in high risk and high intensity environments. During this time I have also developed a solid foundational knowledge of the maintenance/operation of subsea hydraulic and electrical tools and pumping systems.
