Prepress Director for Progress Printing. Job duties include managing the day to day operations of the prepress department, managing the production segment of the companies’ LAN, (which includes multiple vital Windows servers and a Isilon NAS system). I also manage and maintain calibration of numerous output devices, ranging from laser printers and high end ink jet devices to multiple Hewlett Packard Indigo digital printing presses and thermal lithographic plate image setters. I am responsible for the installation and updating of workstation software such as Adobe Creative Suite, and also for running operating system updates. In addition, I configure and purchase workstation hardware, and train personnel on workstation software usage. During this time I transitioned Progress Printing from a Heidelberg Delta ROOM workflow to a CREO Prinergy PDF workflow. I am responsible for workflow implementation, and for training department personnel how to use workflow software tools. Other responsibilities include establishing/updating job descriptions and SOPs for all department personnel, and visiting and training customers on the InSite Prepress Web Portal, (a soft proof and job submission software.) InSite is a web based, intergraded component of the Prinergy workflow. With the software and hardware advancements I have been able to implement workflow automation and efficiencies that achieved significant cost and production cycle savings. In 2011 I lead an initiative to research and implement the Idealliance G7 Proof to Print calibration methodology, for which Progress Printing achieved a G7 Master Printer Qualification.

Electronic Prepress Operator for Progress Printing using page layout applications such as Quark XPress and Aldus PageMaker on both Mac and PC workstations. I also served as a Scanner operator running both high end drum scanners as well as high end flat bed scanners. My duties included performing electronic prepress tasks on designer supplied files for print, as well as high resolution scanning of supplied photos and transparencies. I performed color corrections and image manipulations as needed.
