As part of this work, I conducted in-depth interviews and focus groups with African American MSM in Oakland under the guidance of Dr. Marlon Bailey. We produced, A CALL TO ACTION: A Progress Report on the "I Am Worth It" Social Marketing Campaign for Men That Have Sex With Men detailing our findings.Research Associate - Social Networks and Social Support to Reduce HIV-related Risk Behavior for Young African American Men who have Sex with Men (Emily A. Arnold,PhD, Susan M. Kegeles, PhD-Center for AIDS Prevention Studies, UCSF). Young African American Men who have Sex with Men and those who were also involved in the House Ball Community and/or "Gay Families" were interviewed to learn more about the material, emotional, and HIV-related forms of support found in those social/sexual networks.
