I am an authorised firearms officer who also is an acting police sergeant; in this role I am responsible for a team of police firearms officers and I am called upon to take control of any incidents which may arise. In addition, I am responsible for the day to day running of a shift of police officers in a busy operational policing unit, including the keeping of records, report writing and working within a busy police control room. I regularly carry out the role of police instructor, teaching police safety training, shooting and police tactics to both experienced officers and new recruits at my home unit and various locations throughout the UK. I am also a Police Medic, responsible for delivering emergency medical treatment when necessary. I also carry out the role of tutor to the new members of the team, in this role I am required to monitor their progress and write reports detailing this to the senior management team. I regularly deal with members of the public, colleagues and other agencies using all forms of communication. I maintain a high level of punctuality with a smart, clean appearance at all times.

I was an operational prison officer, having experience in all aspects of custodial care, including working in a busy, high pressure prison control room plus worked as part of a small team of officers in the busy reception area of the prison where accurate record keeping and paperwork is essential. I maintained a high level of punctuality with a smart, clean appearance at all times, often working under pressure whilst remaining focused on the task required. I was required to use various forms of communication whilst dealing with inmates, other agencies, colleagues and members of the public. I was often called upon to take charge during high pressure incidents.

I was responsible for the installation, and commissioning of computer cable networks, including testing and fault finding of communications systems, using both fibre optic and copper cabling in various locations throughout the UK.

I was a weapons mechanic working on vital engineering systems, both electrical and mechanical. I was responsible for the flight maintenance of both Nimrod MR2 and Harrier GR7 Aircraft; I was also part of a weapons team which carried out all the engineering work on the weapons systems. I worked on various weapons engineering projects throughout the world including the repair and maintenance of small arms, a workshop responsible for the repair, maintenance and modification of Nimrod role equipment.

Bachelor'S Degree, Politics, Philosophy And Economics

I am currently working towards a BA in Politics, Philosophy and Economics with the Open University and expect to have completed this.
