I started in my role as Digital Lead with the RCPA in July 2024, and will be focussing on the extensive work program underway within the College to increase the exchange of Pathology information, Prior work with the College included work on e-Requesting and electronic Clinical Decision Support, as well as providing support, advice and input into national informatics work including the Sparked FHIR Accelerator program.

Recognising the need for robust management services across multiple industries, I founded Forus Consulting in mid-2014, which provides a variety of Program and Project Management services for businesses undergoing transformational change.

A short term consultancy to assist with Clinical Engagement and Program Governance. Silverchain were replacing their core care modules with a FHIR based record.

Responsible for providing strategic digital health advice to support the activities of the Australian Digital Health Agency (the Agency). Key achievements include significant input into the Agency position on the Strengthening Medicare Taskforce, delivery of the Business Case for Pregnancy and Child Digital Health Record, and management of the Australian mHealth Apps Assessment Framework.

Given my extensive background in health information systems, I drove delivery of core components including Clinical Access and Authorisation, Biomedical Devices, end-user devices, etc. Effectively my role was to focus on key areas that require attention, deliver a detailed plan in consultation with key resources and then drive the agreed delivery.

Forus Consulting were engaged by NSW Health to undertake several assignments, including managing procurement and delivery of a data analytics tool for Capital Planning; a separate Health Analytics tool used in Strategic Reform; requirements and market engagement for a Health advisory call centre service. Forus also provided many other services during this period, including mentoring and advisory.

Engaged through Forus Consulting, I successfully lead the delivery of the electronic Medical record into Cairns, a significant Program of work. This was at that time the largest rural Digital Hospital service in Australia, and provided World firsts such as the multi-trigger early warning tool, and the first implementation in Australia of Cerners product for fetal and maternal monitoring. This implemenation included Community Health services, not implemented elsewhere in Queensland.
