As creative director at Dovetailors I work with individual private customers, commercial partners and ecclesiastical clients to share my expertise in creating beautiful, functional furniture and specialist wood components. My background in engineering allows me to approach every concept and design from a problem solving perspective, finding the solutions that will work best for the customer and those which will deliver the most practical and aesthetically pleasing results. I have been fortunate to work on a number of high profile ecclesiastical projects including the regeneration of both Wakefield and Sheffield Cathedrals. Projects for these and other institutions have included planning, designing and making choir stalls, altars, an ambo, vestry wardrobes, fonts, ceremonial chairs and a 2.5m high Paschal candle. Each project has been exciting, collaborative and rewarding.I also work closely with a number of fantastic businesses, supporting them in a variety of ways from prototyping to wood component design and manufacture and batch production. We have a highly skilled team of makers in our workshop who know their craft well and state-of-the-art CAD CAM and CNC facilities which enable us to produce high end components efficiently and in small batches if necessary.
