Chief Engineer of Vehicles, responsible for engineering delivery of the £63m Protected Mobility Engineering & Technical Support contract known as PMETS which covers the MOD’s fleet of 2,200 Protected Mobility Vehicles delivering capability improvements across numerous domains including environmental, safety and technical.Further to this I manage and deliver all innovation tasks for the Vehicles business, developing new products, processes and technologies for our customers, delivered via the technology and innovation road maps developed by myself.The final element of the role is to oversee new contracts and approve subsequent bid/resource requirements.

Working as a member of the Morris Team as The Head of Vehicle Engineering I manage all activities related the design and engineering of the New Morris JE Electric Vehicle. I am particularly responsible for the design and delivery of the new modular skateboard LCV chassis concept and prototype builds within agreed time and budgets. I oversee the body and trim engineering functions as well as the whole vehicle integration function implementing the best practices and innovative approaches of new technologies where possible. Further to this my responsibilities also include the development of new innovative concepts which include all aspects from digital technologies and AI through to more traditional mechanical concepts which focus on driving efficiency within the whole process of vehicle design, engineering and manufacture.Accompanying these tasks I also compile and pitch projects for funding with Government bodies such as Innovate UK, working with external parties to deliver innovation into our products. I work alongside the engineers to deliver our vision and manage engineers, contractors and suppliers to lead the team to take the vehicle from engineering design, supplier nomination, prototype build, certification and finally through to production.

To provide technical Expertise for the Chassis CoE within the EU region (with additional support to the NA region as and when required) and support current and future customers to develop growth opportunities for TTL in the Chassis domain through delivery of staffing, consultancy and delivery of offshore work packages.A key aspect to this role was the development of strategy plans (10 years) and technology road maps which identified future developments that should be undertaken within TTL. From this various projects ranging from small £200k projects through to multi million pound projects were proposed for R&D at TTL to ensure capabilities were at their peak.It also encompassed owning the development of standards, processes and risk assessments/failure mode analysis to ensure the highest quality is delivered for our customers and where necessary manage potential recall actions with structured mitigation plans.This role also works with the EU team and offshore delivery centres to identify and develop the necessary skills and capabilities to grow the business revenue and margin within current and future Chassis customers.

Senior engineering manager working for the VP's of the company delivering 2 large automotive platforms spanning BEV, Hybrid and ICE products with a combined fiscal responsibility across these platforms in excess of £60m. In addition I was responsible for 64 research and development (R&D) projects ranging from small scale £50k projects through to £1.2 million projects.Ownership of risk assessments, recalls and design failure modes to advise the Department and Board of Directors of potential risks and the mitigation action plans that need to be implemented.Key stakeholder management across the UK, Europe and China (including Engineering functions, Government and Vice Presidents of SAIC)Create, review and manage all standards and processes for the Department and ensure these are managed to achieve optimum efficiency.

Recent projects delivered include the Limited Edition Jaguar Project 7, whereby I led the development of the chassis and the associated team working on it. The commodities I developed in this project included new adjustable active damper modules unique to this vehicle, new Anti-roll bars and associated bushes and new top mount assemblies. As Project Lead Engineer, managing multiple engineers and ensuring that this product meets the requirements set, driving updates and changes which were introduced across the platform to improve quality and performance were part of the day to day business.Other projects include the development of the suspension and brake cooling performance on the amazing Range Rover Sport SVR which has been awarded the presitgious Autocar 5* review. A testament to the quality of the product.The latest project to be revealed is the new F-Type SVR whereby I have developed new suspension modules to improve comfort and performance handling in tandem with unique Anti-roll bars and bushes. I have also worked on developing other areas such as the new rear knuckle and other tweaks to the chassis.In addition to this I am also leading the development of new and upcoming projects, managing a team of engineers developing the new chassis systems which will push the boundaries of performance and luxury vehicles. My team works to the new guidelines and standards which I set for the whole of Jaguar Land Rover's SVO division to adhere to with the aim to ensure efficient, to cost and high performing commodities are produced.The final remit for my role is to develop new technologies and strategies that are developed and agreed at Director and Board level within JLR. These new technologies will then be trialled and potentially feed various projects in the future.
