David was responsible for building a practice in Investing with Impact for AIP. He designed a pioneering strategy incorporating all strategic components of sustainability (SRI, thematic, ESG, Impact) designed to maximize both returns and measured impact outcomes, the Integro Fund, for which $126 million was raised from both institutional and HNW investors, as well as further significant separate accounts. In its first full year of operation the companies in the Integro Fund enjoyed average revenue growth of 26%, job creation of 16% and enabled access to finance for over 180,000 low income people, over 90% of whom were women. As of June 2020 the fund was returning a net IRR of 12.8% with a DPI of 0.2.

David was Chief Investment Officer and Manager Global Private Equity Funds, responsible for the International Finance Corporation’s program of investments in funds in emerging markets globally. David joined the Funds Department at IFC as Manager at its inception and was responsible for analyzing the existing portfolio to draw lessons to guide the new investment policy.During David’s tenure the IFC’s funds’ portfolio grew from committed capital of just under $1 billion returning around 5% IRR, to committed capital of around $4 billion returning an IRR of 19.3% with two thirds of the volatility of the index, job creation within the portfolio of over 15.5% per annum and one of the best levels of ESG compliance in IFC.David managed a team which grew from twelve staff all based in Washington DC to a global team of over forty people in five locations.During 2009 David was the acting CEO of IFC’s Asset Management Company during its establishment phase. He was a member of the Pension Finance Committee of the World Bank Group, with oversight of the management of the World Bank Pension Fund.

Analyzed money and bond markets in a diverse range of countries including Tajikistan, Russia, Lebanon, Uganda, China, India and Bangladesh. The objective was to improve the operation of markets to improve policy signaling, reduce volatility and improve liquidity. Analysis of money and bond markets was a new area of activity for the World Bank, which David pioneered.
