Lead daily operations, assigning tasks, fielding inquiries, evaluating outcomes, and collaborating on strategic plans, such as the Comprehensive Plan. Create budget and policy recommendations. Cross-train staff and ensuring employees are appropriately certified to carry out various duties. Spearheaded initiative to create a new service delivery model that combined multiple functions with similar goals, including Environmental Health, Community Health, Behavioral Health, Housing, Vital Statistics, Planning, Building, Permitting, Long Range Planning, Code Enforcement and Fire Marshal. Negotiated agreement between the County and the Squaxin Indian Tribe that avoided costly litigation over growth management. Achieved notable savings, re-instating code enforcement after an eight-year absence due to budget limitations. Implemented a “one stop shop” for all permits, simplifying the process for end-users and reducing costs to the organization. Project managed Smart Gov project to replace antiquated legacy software with state-of-the-art system enabling users to submit, pay for, and receive permits online, coordinating with Public Works and the County Assessor's office for seamless billing and payment interface.
