David Withycombe is the retired Chief Operating Officer of Del Monte Foods. David worked for Del Monte for over 40 years, joining the company immediately after graduating from Oregon State University with a Degree in Food Science and Technology. He currently serves as a Director on the Boards of McCall Farms, Inc. and Tuff Boy Sales, Inc.David was appointed as Del Monte's Chief Operating Officer in 2014 and directed the fruit, tomato and vegetable supply chain across the United States. During his career at Del Monte, David led major plant/operations consolidation and expansion projects in fruit, tomatoes and vegetables, utilizing new industry technologies to develop state of the art supply chain capabilities. He has extensive mergers and acquisitions experience, having been involved in the acquisition and integration of the Contadina Brand and related plants from Nestle Foods, Snokist Cooperative, the S&W Brand from Tri Valley Growers and the merger of the tuna fish, pet, soup and baby food divisions from the Heinz Company into the Del Monte business.David served in leadership roles at Del Monte in Oregon, Washington and California and held positions in a number of different corporate functions.David served on several Industry and Community Boards. He served a term as President of the California League of Food Processors and was a long-time representative of Del Monte Foods to the League. He was appointed to the California Agricultural Bargaining Committee and served 8 years on the Ripon Unified School District Board of Directors.
