I provide the City of Fruita with an economical and useful fleet of 165 vehicles and equipment. While guarantying that all applicable safety and compliance regulations are followed. I accomplish this by providing administration services and operation services. My administrative capacity involves following. Analyze current and future needs of the City provided by the Fleet Maintenance Division. Using an equipment depreciation scoring method and accounting software to assist other departments with annual budget proposals by providing accurate usage and maintenance information. Use financial information from accounting software to provide budgetary quotes, cost analysis of proposed new and current assets. If required recommend disposal of current or surplus assets. Leading the acquisition of capital equipment assets in accordance to the City’s purchasing policies. Including product research, bid specification writing, publishing the bid, closing and awarding, placing and receiving the order. During the life of the equipment, make sure maintenance and upgrades of equipment are performed in a timely and efficient manner. At end of useful life, dispose of surplus assets according to the guideline established by the City.Fleet Maintenance operations duties are; draft an annual operations budget and submit for approval. Safeguard adherence to the approved budget. Purchase supplies and services as needed by means of set purchasing policies. Supervise and support two mechanics and others as assigned in daily maintenance and repair operations. Coordinate with crew leaders, supervisors, and directors to schedule equipment for repairs. Cooperate with others on time sensitive projects to ensure complete before set deadlines (i.e. Snow removal equipment repairs, seasonal equipment preparation, emergency onsite repairs, emergency response vehicle repairs). Manage onsite fuel dispensers, fuel usage and inventory by utilizing fuel management

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on over 165 vehicles, pieces of equipment and machinery. Coordinate with various internal departments and external entities to complete tasks. Performed duties of Maintenance Worker I, including but not limited to, operate heavy trucks, construction equipment, municipal specialty equipment such as sewer cleaners, street sweepers, snowplows. Maintain inventory of part, supplies and personal safety equipment. Periodically supervise 2-3 employees. Compiled a report for feasibility of using compressed natural gas vehicles by the City. Assisted with concept and design of new fleet maintenance facility.
