Phosphate Hill

The site consists of a crushing and screening plant, phosphoric acid plant, ammonia plant, granulation plant and all associated support equipment including gas turbine power station, rail load out and sulphuric acid unloading, borefields and water treatment, camp and aviation services.The primary duties of this role is to minimise plant downtime by efficiently prioritising a breakdown team of fitters, electricians and industrial cleaners. Maintaining a site wide view of production to manage conflicting priorities and limited resources. Tracking of failure events and facilitating analysis to determine root cause and identify improvement opportunities.In addition to breakdown work, I am also responsible for effective planning and execution of maintenance shutdowns and direct individual area leads to ensure consistency of planning across each plant area.

This role involved working with a small team from process, laboratory, mechanical and engineering backgrounds to research and develop new processing concepts and improvements. This included hazard analysis, plant trials, commissioning of pilot plants, testing, interpretation of lab results and writing reports.
