Using the Venture Philanthropy model, we leverage the skills and resources of local philanthropists to improve the quality of early childhood education for Delaware's most at-risk children. In the process, we build capacity, inject strategic methods, and enhance the sustainability of nonprofits serving low-income families. We’ve lead advocacy efforts to improve state funding and help spawn state and county wide programs that build quality. In addition, we help local philanthropists learn how to give better, smarter, and more efficiently. We are proud to report that the centers we have supported have advanced through the Delaware STARS system and each child in each of these centers leaves "ready" for kindergarten.

In 2003, less than 25% of African American boys were graduating from high school in Wilmington. I assisted in the creation and start-up of this Catholic College Preparatory School for low-income boys. My accomplishments include: creating, maintaining, and stewarding of 3,500+ member donor-base, building annual fundraising revenue to $1M, secured endowment of $1.2M and raised over $3.5M for capital projects, organizing special events including the implementation of our signature event In Vino Veritas, and helping to procure local private high school and college scholarships securing students’ continued education. Not only have 90% of our students graduated high school, but 100% of those graduates are now in college.

Organized, designed, and implemented 9 week class for adults wishing to start small businesses. In process, I helped train students in writing business plans for the immediate acquisition of start-up capital.
