The key responsibility of this role was the on-going production support and improvement to the VY Holden Commodore Auto Shift Assembly Cell, and the continuous process improvement of the door check assembly lines. Also involved in the role was the Time & Motion & SMED principle based studies completed in the press shop to optimize raw material change over times thus increasing the overall OEE of the press shop equipment

The key responsibility and objective was the successful attainment of supplier management and product quality to achieve the OEM requirements of Holden approved accessory products in full, on time, to meet vehicle launch dates.

This role encompassed the project management of a portfolio of 20 plastic injected moulded components for the Toyota 380N vehicle build and launch program. This required the cross functional management of the tooling, gauge development, production trialing, metrology and QA approvals of each product in readiness for the Toyota Supplier Management Group and related vehicle build phases.

This role was primarily centered on the development and release of a facility wide Kaizen improvement program across manufacturing, the other key responsibility was the maintenance and process based improvement to the Holden / Toyota remote key production cells.

The production engineering role was charged with the responsibility of engineering a variety of factory improvements and QA corrective actions for current production, assembly layout improvements, managing the in-sourcing of assembly equipment to complement Hella’s core assembly competencies, and the establishment of a dedicated robotic spray painting facility for manufacture of Ford’s ED Falcon Rear Applique.
