Davd is the owner for AI and Machine Learning related development tools in Azure ML studio and Azure AI studio. David owns the end to end experiences for Azure AI curated dev environment, VS code web/desktop extension click out experience in ML studio and AI studio, as well as Azure ML studio Notebooks tab (Terminal, JupyterNotebook and FileExploerer). During Ignite 2024, David heavily involved into the development of the latest Azure AI Unified SDK and the relevant GitHub evaluation action.

David architected the next generation of server side rendering (SSR) solution for web components in Microsoft WebXT content service team. The solution is designed on top of the latest Chromium browser web component streaming technology for Chrome and Edge, and also based on Microsoft FAST framework. The architecture involved rearchitecting the payload and response for three existing services in WebXT content service. The feature is fully launched in June 2023.

David is the founding member and 3D visualization team tech lead for TwinMaker (Digital Twin) team in AWS IoT org. The team launched a AWS flagship service, IoT TwinMaker at 2021 re:Invent (https://aws.amazon.com/iot-twinmaker). David design and implemented the AWS TwinMaker Console as well as architected the 3D editor in both AWS Console and Grafana plugin (https://grafana.com/grafana/plugins/grafana-iot-twinmaker-app/); after re:Invent, David actively worked with the engineers from AWS Professional Services team to resolve TM related customer issues.

David moved from Alexa Smart Home team (vertical feature team) to Alexa mobile platform team in 2019. In the Alexa mobile platform backend team, David led four teams to design and implement the workflow engine for Alexa and SmartHome devices from registration to device management and device command & controls. After reorg in Nov 2019, David acted as both tech lead and SDM roles in the Alexa Voice iOS SDK team.

After Sr. SDE promotion, in 2018, David finished a VP goal project, Amazon Frustration Free Setup. In 2019, David led another innovation project for Amazon partner companies, which used Bluetooth proximity for local setup and control.

David joined a team which inherited a service and some web pages with no documentation. David led the team to migrate the web pages to React Native, extend the existing APIs and also build the new APIs. With this project, the page P90 cold-start latency reduced from 6 seconds to 300ms.

David joined Amazon Prime team, which managed Amazon Prime delivery data in both amazon.com and Amazon shopping apps. David built a new data-driven solution to aggregate and show Amazon delivery information easily. This solution is implemented in both server side and iOS & Android client apps.
