Completed 23 years of service to the Nation as an Officer in the U.S. Army that includes three years deployed to Iraq in support of combat operations, the leader development of future officers at West Point, command and staff experience with the planning, coordination, training, resourcing, and execution of operations around the world. Recognition for excellent academic and military experiences range from selection as the U.S. Army Cadet Command Professor of Military Science of the Year in 2011 to the awarding of four Bronze Star Medals during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Has served as guest speaker at numerous events to promote future opportunities for emerging leaders. Selected by the SHSU President to develop and implement a leadership academy for high potential employees from the University, the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, and the Huntsville community. The American Association of State Colleges and University recognized the Leadership Academy as the recipient of the 2017 Leadership Development and Diversity Award.
