In today's rapid paced environment, it takes superior technical skills coupled with critical thinking and sound business acumen to envision, develop and successfully launch products of the future. Companies must have employees who bring multiple facets to the table to sort through the options and take calculated risks to beat the competition. I have a passion for combining my knowledge and interest of materials science and engineering to push the boundaries of what we know farther. In five years of academic research I have been published five times, and have demonstrated the ability to go beyond the classroom by performing R&D at Natron Energy, a Silicon Valley startup focusing on energy storage. Creating products that make an impact in today’s society is also very important to me. At Georgia Pacific, I helped provide technical support and business case analysis to successfully support a roadmap of future innovations in the consumer product group. In this work, it was critical to evaluate both the feasibility of new products from a social responsibility and technical point of view, as well as the financial and operational aspects of bringing them to market. Expanding my interests in data science, I implemented better data recording tactics and sought to further understand the trends of the Materials Innovation and Learning Laboratory, a maker space on the Georgia Tech campus that I led as the CEO. I also developed a new database with over 1 billion data points to target market segments for new products and create deeper insights for Equifax’s innovation lab. Honing my data visualization, SQL, and critical thinking skills, I created reports with $700k potential revenue and answered complex questions from important customers. I also created a POC model to identify customers most likely to open a new product after a trigger, having a 2.3x increase in KS compared to existing metrics. I’m excited to take my next steps as a part of a progressive organization that values data-driven decision making, cutting edge research and social responsibility.
