Developed a data warehouse from scratch, using Google BigQuery + Apache Airflow. Solution was scalable, cost-effective, and low-maintenance, meeting Muso's needs as a resource-constrained non-profit. I joined 2011 an intern, and left 2017 full-time. The company grew from 8 - 200+ in this time.As an intern, I conceived, developed, and deployed a project that significantly increased learning efficiency. I wrote a viral blog post (40K+ views in 48 hrs, front page HN + Reddit, TEDx talk). We became known as THE place to work that combines large-scale social impact with interesting tech challenges. We were able to raise our bar and hire top talent — industry leaders, library creators, and book authors.I've worked across the stack, from infrastructure (dev-ops) to data analytics (data eng) to personalization + game mechanics (full-stack) to our Android app. I led the redesign of the homepage which led to a 1MM+ learning minutes / month increase.
