Research interests: 1) exploring heterogeneity in cardiac monitoring with insertable loop recorders (ILR) or external patches looking for AFib in cryptogenic (unknown) stroke and small- and large-vessel stroke (DIVERT-Stroke study); 2) early use of Direct Oral Anticoagulant (DOAC) in AFib-related stroke (AREST trial); 3) identifying causes of DOAC failure (recurrent stroke in AFib patients prescribed DOAC); 4) evaluating DOAC reversal options for Anticoagulant-associated Intracranial Hemorrhage; and 5) offering left atrial appendage (LAA) closure or exclusion in AFib patients unable to take long-term DOAC.
