I make sure the lights stay on by ensuring steady operation of Engines/Generators for one of the largest Seafood Processing plants in the world. Along with several plants, there are also two Hotels, three bars and a liquor store on property. I operate the switchgear in the control room and I log into the computer all measurements of operation on a bi-hourly basis, make adjustments to equipment as needed. I supervise 2 engine watch personnel to ensure all tasks are accomplished in the engine room and provide support with any equipment-failure related issues to ensure continuous operation of the Power Plant. I am also the dispatcher for the facility, which means that I am responsible to monitor all radio traffic, make, receive, direct and log in all calls and equipment/facility alarms.

I was responsibe for first response to any and all incidents and/or accidents in and around facility of 1300 workers from many different cultures. I recorded all incidents and accidents in company database and was responsible for all Safety compliance audits, including inspection of equipment for Safety related issues. I was expected to be a role model for plant and hospitality employees working for this company. I worked closely with local authorities when required to by law. I completed EMT training and received several certifications for chemical safety and the operation of motor powered equipment.
