About David Zechariah Kwek

Singaporean David Kwek is pursuing his Doctoral Degree in Music Performance at the University of Oregon, School of Music and Dance (UO SOMD) under the mentorship of Dr. Wonkak Kim. He is also the Clarinet Graduate Employee Instructor, assisting with teaching and administrative duties for the clarinet studio. He currently holds the Principal Clarinet position at the Rogue Valley Symphony in Ashland, Oregon.David attained his MMus with department honors from UO SOMD and BMus with first class honors from the joint degree program of the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (Singapore) and the Royal College of Music (London). His teachers were Tang Xiao Ping, Janet Hilton, Michael Harris and Michael Anderson.His achievements include the Embassy of Peru Award (2019), Best Graduate Performer Award (UO 2024) and the First Prize of the Clarinet Asia competition (2019) held in Macau.David is a Yamaha Artist and plays SE Artists Bb & A clarinets.
