This role supported the closure of LBIE and supported the transition of tail state functions to LBIE administrators PricewaterhouseCoopers ("PwC"). Tasks included developing control processes tracking and monitoring the LBIE counterparty population, auditing settled counterparties and tracking & documenting all associated open counterparty tasks to facilitate an effective hand over to PwC. These close out tasks included the co-ordination of the middle office transition to closure document, this captured the processes and procedures associated with all sub product counterparty reconciliation streams (including financing, failed trades, exchange traded derivatives, OTC derivatives and prime broker relationships). Other responsibilities included co-ordinating the decommissioning of the financing system infrastructure, systems included Global 1, in-house repo transaction booking systems and in-house margining systems.

In September 2008 following Lehman Brothers insolvency, I committed to supporting LBIE administrators PwC unwind the investment banking business. Utilising my experience I co-ordinated the implementation of the operational processes and systems required to complete counterparty portfolio reconciliations for all counterparties captured under pre existing securities lending and repurchase master agreements. (including OSLA, GMRA and GMSLA) My main responsibilities included the day to day management and development of up to 10 direct Lehman reports as well as PwC team members, this covered all aspects of people management, including hiring and performance review processes. My key achievements and tasks include:Successfully implemented portfolio reconciliation and control processes. Consulted with internal and external legal counsel to determine the application of master agreement termination rules. Processes included equity and fixed income transaction & collateral valuation, corporate action & income calculations and fee billing & interest calculations.Achieved agreed status on 99% of over 900 financing counterparty relationships worth in excess of £10bn.Managed numerous data consolidation, data reconciliation and complex transaction identification projects. Developed a unique insight into the internal workings of an investment bank and developed a strong understanding of financing governing master agreements. Maintained tri-party collateral manager relationships and played a key role in the realisation of custody cash and security positions. (JPM, BoNY and Euroclear)Gained valuable experience liaising external counterparties, senior PwC partners and senior Lehman directors.Developed excellent internal relationships and became a key party to working groups tasked with the resolution of complex internal and external counterparty issues.

Provided daily operations support to Lehman Brothers Investment Management division including LBAM, high net worth (“HNW”) clients and joint ventures. Monitored and implemented procedures and risk control processes in support of the launch and growth of LBAM institutional and retail investment funds. • Supported the successful launch of first LBAM EUR and GBP liquidity funds in August 2005. Tested, enhanced and documented liquidity fund procedures. Liaised with brokers to establish effective post execution business relationships. • Project managed the successful implementation of operational client reports, covering multiple products. Delivered accurate reports on a monthly and bi-weekly basis for all LBAM institutional investment funds.• Monitored post execution trade cycle of LBAM investment funds, HNW clients and joint ventures, including transaction processing & settlement, corporate action processing, cash management processing and daily depot reconciliations. • Monitored the performance of appointed fund accountants and administrators, verified fund net asset values (“NAVs”). • Direct liaison with multi-disciplinary teams across Lehman Brothers including investment managers, execution desks, treasury, settlements, technology and client services. • Responsible for the production of daily and monthly management information (“MI”) to mitigate risk and exposures.• Monitored the segregation of HNW client security and cash positions on a daily basis in line with CASS 6 and CASS 7 rules.• Strong knowledge of equity, fixed income, exchange traded derivatives, FX and OTC derivatives products and trade cycles.• Supported the implementation of the LBAM portfolio management system (SIMPCORP Dimension), performed robust system user acceptance testing (“UAT”).

Provided support to the front office execution teams, investment managers and securities lending teams. Tasks included:Trade booking and query management, covering equities, fixed income, futures and options.Distribution of daily, weekly and monthly performance reports to investment managers.Monitoring of collateral provided to cover securities lending exposure.Execution of daily investment fund deals for fund of fund managers.
