Davida Opara is a multifaceted, award-winning writer and content strategist with extensive experience in sustainable development advocacy and communications. Ambitious and impact-driven, she is a lawyer-in-training (LLB, Ibadan–2023) aiming to utilise law and policy to end the inter-linked challenges of gender-inequality, poor healthcare, and the climate crisis in the Global South. As an undergraduate, she researched on liability in telemedicine within the Nigerian jurisprudence & led a review of the Nigerian Data Protection Bill from a medical-law perspective by the Medical Law Class of 2019, University of Ibadan.She currently is the:● Lead, Communications and Strategy at Green Growth Africa; a UNEP-accredited and leading NGO committed to innovation of greened socio-economic development in Africa; ● Programme Lead, GIRL Initiative, where she has aided ~200 young women on self-discovery and smashing stereotypes in less than 2 years of leadership through the annual conferences and communities; and ● a Clinton Global Initiative-University Fellow 2023 working on #OrangeMyFaith, a campaign to contextualise SGBV in faith communities; among others.These build on her past development advocacy work with the UN-SDSN Youth Network as a Global Schools Advocate in 2019 where she reached out to over 10 schools with 1500+ students combined, successfully onboarded 3 schools to utilize an ESD digital platform, and executed SDGs awareness mini-trainings for 15 school teachers and administrators.
