Profile bio

About David Andrade

🚀 Hi there, welcome to my profile! I have a big passion for all things aerospace. I studied Mechanical Engineering at Harvard University, where I had the honor of leading the undergraduate satellite team through the development of a cube-satellite that was awarded a NASA CSLI launch selection. I've been fortunate to hone my engineering skills further at internships with Blue Origin and SpaceX, working as a responsible engineer and test engineer on rocket engine and spacecraft development. Most recently, I pursued a group thesis project owning the product cycle of reaction wheels, which won the Dean’s Award for Outstanding Engineering Thesis.🌟 Beyond the aerospace world, I'm deeply committed to community service and conservation efforts. For the last few years, I volunteered as a supervisor for a homeless shelter, assisting guests with housing & transport and conducting meal & laundry prep. Mentoring high school students from first-generation and low-income backgrounds is another passion of mine, drawing from my own journey as the first in my family to attend college. Plus, I had an incredible study abroad experience in Kenya, researching wildlife ecology, human-lion conflict, and human dimensions of conservation. So, if you too love pushing boundaries, paying it forward, and maybe even geeking out over space, let's connect! Can't wait to chat about all the awesome things we could accomplish together!
