Plantronics and Polycom are now together as Poly -- a world leader in communications and collaboration. As CTO, I lead our forward looking technology strategy, long-term roadmap, and new product development efforts at Poly. My teams work to identify and drive new ideas for future products and strategic direction, as well as actively developing advanced capabilities that are incorporated into shipping products across the Poly portfolio. Among other areas, teams in the CTO office are focused on machine learning/artificial intelligence, immersive experiences (including AR/VR), video, audio, standards, data science, advanced user experience, next generation devices (cameras, audio, wearables...), and sensors. Additionally, I have a number of broader responsibilities across the company. I am part of the team that shares Poly's vision for the future of work, the hybrid office, and for collaboration. I work closely with the analyst and press relations team, as well as sales, articulating our vision through presentations, meetings, and articles. I assist the strategy and corporate development teams, help define our product roadmaps across the company, and serve on Poly's patent committee. I also lead Poly's broader innovation harvesting program at the company level. I defined, launched, and work closely with HR to lead Poly's Distinguished Engineer and Fellow program, providing a career path for Poly's most senior technical individual contributors.(Briefly served as VP of Technology for Future Customer Experiences at HP after they acquired Poly, before moving to Meta)

Hired to help grow Polycom into new technology areas, particularly web-based communications and social networking, both organically and inorganically through partnership and acquisition. Responsible for defining technical strategy and roadmap, as well as corporate and business development in these areas. Led the Web, Cloud, Social and Technology Assessment teams. Led the team responsible for technical efforts/architecture in web communication, cloud delivery, and social networking. This team was responsible for integrating Polycom's software with the Jive enterprise social networking platform (demonstrated at JiveWorld 2011).Part of the group evaluating companies for potential partnership, investment, or acquisition, including assessment of technical capabilities, applicability, quality of products and team, and market opportunity.

Clients included Huawei, Ooma, ADP, UBM (United Business Media), as well as other smaller companies.Provided larger clients with expertise and services in the areas of technical and product strategy, patents, industry standards (including IETF), business and corporate development, public speaking/evangelism, deployment and operational planning, assembly and management of software teams.In addition to helping in these areas, provided advice and assistance with operational, fundraising and management issues for smaller clients.

Assembled and led a world-class team of industry veteran executives and brilliant technologists that together turned Mr. Bryan’s vision of P2PSIP into a shipping product. SIPeerior offered a product line that included embedded device software, distributed telecommunications servers, and P2P enabled web communications tools. Responsible for developing and implementing SIPeerior’s top-level business, product direction, and financial strategies. Raised operational capital for SIPeerior. Led efforts to establish industry relationships and served as the primary public face of SIPeerior as a speaker at dozens of industry events, and as a writer for industry magazines. Provided high-level technical and architectural oversight for SIPeerior’s product line.

Responsible for the concept, initial design, launch, and landing of the initial customer for the award-winning PeerPoint line of session border controller (SBC) products. Served as a member of the executive team, working on fund-raising, building the executive and core development teams, supervising product development, defining the technical vision and providing industry visibility. Jasomi was aquired by Ditech Communications (NASDAQ:DITC) in the Summer of 2005.

Assisted in the design and performance optimization of the Vovida products, supervision of a development team, and promotion of the products and their corresponding community site, vovida.org. Continued in the role of Team Lead following Vovida’s acquisition by Cisco Systems (NASDAQ:CSCO) in September of 2000.
