In his role as President and Chief Executive Officer of SkyFiber, Inc. Mr. Achim leverages over twenty-five years of proven sales, marketing and operational expertise in providing leadership and guidance throughout all aspects of the corporation. Before joining SKYFIBER™ in October of 2008, he served as President and Chief Executive Officer for ROME Corporation, a Houston-based company providing Enterprise Credit Risk Management software to the Energy and Financial Services business sectors. During his tenure with ROME Corporation, Mr. Achim and his team doubled company revenues every year from 2005 to 2007, resulting in ROME’s recognition in 2007 by Inc. magazine as one of the 500 fastest growing companies in North America. ROME Corporation was on track to again double revenue in 2008, when Mr. Achim successfully negotiated the sale of the corporation to TriplePoint Technology in June of 2008. Mr. Achim began his technology career at Burroughs in Houston, TX. He has held roles of increasing executive responsibility at Viewstar, Action Technologies and Gemplus, where he negotiated strategic, multi-million dollar relationships with Compaq, IBM and Microsoft. As Regional Vice President of Sales at Selectica, Mr. Achim developed numerous strategic partnerships and exceeded revenue delivery goals, both of which were instrumental to the company’s recognition of a successful public offering. In his role leading the Global Sales and Marketing division for portal software leader Epicentric, Mr. Achim was responsible for orchestrating a multi-million dollar OEM relationship with a global telecommunications leader, contributing to the successful sale of the company to Austin-based Vignette Corporation. Mr. Achim holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana.
