The Cook County Economic Development Advisory Council (EDAC) is a 16 person advisory council appointed by Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle to advise the County regarding policies, strategies, and plans to improve the business environment, encourage productivity, and support people, places, and actions that can help the economy grow. EDAC’s members represent a broad range of public and private sector interests in Cook County. EDAC uses Partnering for Prosperity – An Economic Growth Agenda for Cook County as a foundation for its work and the development of a new five year Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS). EDAC also reviews and approves many of the County’s economic development financing tools and incentives.

Since its inception in 1994, the 100 Black Men of Chicago, Inc. has worked to enhance the lives of those youth and their families who live in socially or economically deprived communities. The organization’s primary mission is to help improve the quality of life and enhance educational opportunities for young African American males throughout the Greater Chicago area. We provide on-going educational training programs, mentoring, tutoring, student scholarships, and economic empowerment seminars through the help of our volunteers and community partners.

As National Director of Economic Development and Corporate Relations at the Rainbow PUSH Coalition, I am responsible for increasing the visibility of Rainbow PUSH in the areas of corporate and foundation philanthropy. The CAO directs, administers and coordinates the activities of the National Black MBA Association (NBMBAA) in support of policies, goals and objectives and provides the leadership, management, and vision necessary to ensure that NBMBAA has the proper administrative support, associated reporting procedures and systems to effectively manage and grow the organization.Responsibilities include, overseeing all administrative functions to ensure smooth daily operations, coordinate the organizations internal communications, assist in executing and monitoring programs and initiatives. Other responsibilities include overseeing risk management and legal activities, including: Vendor Agreements, Leases, and Litigation. Also serves as the primary Board contact for the CEO when needed.The National Black MBA Association (NBMBAA) is a non‐profit organization founded in 1970 at the University Of Chicago. With 46 Professional Chapters and 27 Collegiate Chapters nationally, the NBMBAA is dedicated to the enhancement and development of educational and economic empowerment for African Americans. Dedicated to developing partnerships that result in the creation of intellectual and economic wealth within the Black community, the Association is in partnership with more than 400 of the country’s top businesses and business organizations.
