Manage and lead Disney's Freeform and Onyx Collective Business Affairs & Contract Administration Teams. Onyx Collective and Freeform develops and produces scripted live action dramas, comedies, limited series, unscripted series, animation, and television movies/theatrical programming. Additionally, oversee all of our co-productions, acquisitions and licenses with third party studios.

Co-Head of Business Affairs / Hub Leader for Freeform/ABC FamilyOversee and manage the Business Affairs of Freeform/ABC Family and function in a dual role as a network and studio negotiator for original and acquired programming. Negotiate “above-the-line” talent agreements including writer, actor, director and producer agreements for the development and production of original programming for the network and its platforms including live-action, animated and unscripted pilots, series, and made-for-television movies. Responsible for negotiating network licenses and acquiring third party programming for the network and its platforms from major studios and distribution companies for theatrical motion pictures, made-for-television movies and series. Advise senior management regarding deal structures, production budgets and all other business issues for the studio and network.

Negotiated and prepared talent and various other agreements on behalf of Walt Disney Pictures and Pixar in connection with animated theatrical motion pictures such as “Cars” and “The Incredibles”. Development and production responsibilities included negotiating and drafting deals for voice talent, writers, producers, consultants and employees of Feature Animation. Negotiated and drafted agreements for consumer products and acquired rights to articles, novels, comic books, and video game characters. Oversaw animated theatrical legal clearances which included script and production clearance and approving Disney/Pixar marketing materials. Managed business and legal affairs for the Animation Research Library (ARL) and negotiated with foreign counsel in connection with agreements providing artwork to museums around the world.

Negotiator and legal counsel for the ABC Television Network and Touchstone Television. Oversaw comedies and dramas such as “According to Jim” and “Sports Night” and responsible for all aspects involved with production and network legal affairs. Development responsibilities included negotiating and drafting development deals with writers, producers, actors and rights holders including script development, first look, blind script, holding, overall development/production deals, acquisition agreements and network license agreements. Production responsibilities included negotiating and drafting “above-the-line” talent agreements for actors, writers, producers and directors for television series, motion pictures, specials and television musicals. Supervised and trained lawyers who documented agreements and obtained clearances.

Handled legal and business affairs for television motion pictures and mini-series including the negotiating and drafting of all “above-the-line” personnel agreements. Negotiated and drafted various acquisition, distribution, co-production and output agreements. Approved advertising materials and press releases, reviewed credit obligations, negotiated clip licenses, coordinated delivery requirements and supervised outside counsel.
