In 2016 a honeymoon led us to start Bushbalm, with a focus on bikini line skincare. For far too long the industry had been ignore concerns like ingrown hairs, razor burn, and post-wax irritation. We took it upon ourselves to someday become the leader in skincare for down there. To date we've launched some incredible innovations, including our Hydrogel Vajacial Mask and the Roller Rescue Soothing Serum featuring the first ever stainless steel roller ball for intense cooling.

The Office of the COO works on cross functional projects at Shopify. From driving our companies mission to working on our corporate investment plans. Our team thinks strategically about the business and focuses on improving it everyday.

In this role I worked directly with the Senior Vice President of Shopify's largest team of over 1000 employees. My key responsibility was helping run the operations of the senior leadership team, consisting of five Directors and leads from HR, Data, Workforce Management, and Finance. Additional responsibilities - Ran operational meetings for the Support Cabinet team - Held leads accountable for projects during operational meetings- Built business models to launch key projects - Took on key projects that required additional resources - Worked closely with the Talent Acquisition & Marketing Teams to build out marketing campaigns to hire top talent around the world at scale and velocity - Collaborated on presentations for our AGM - Shopify Summit, as well as our 4 annual Support Summits.

Talent Acquisition at Shopify was an opportunity to understand the business needs in deeper depth. Being able to build the pipeline from scratch, create new roles, and hire top talent at Shopify taught me how to adapt and scale a fast paced organization. I successful grew our largest team at Shopify, as well as our Technical Writing and Merchant Success Front End Development teams.

In this role at Shopify I got to get a deeper understanding of what it takes to run a remote contact center. Our customer success team has scaled across the world and is consistently praised for the quality of service provided. The knowledge and skills I learned working with a team that scaled so quickly will always stick with me. Working alongside deep thinkers helped me grow my skills and expertise, while developing leadership qualities.

This full time role helped sharpen my marketing and e-commerce skills by assisting Shopify businesses succeed. By focusing on customer success, I learned the ins and outs of what a remote contact center would look like. The Customer Success role helped prepare me for the manager role I eventually took on.

In my time at the family business we accomplished many things. - We rebuilt the website (www.gaylordhardwoodflooring.com) from scratch, as well as launched a secondary online presence in a discount outlet (shop.gaylordflooringonline.com). - We rethought the marketing strategy for the business. - We launched Salesforce and Pardot to grow our email marketing efforts Other areas I worked in: -Became proficient with Simply Accounting by SAGE-Used the Adobe package on a regular basis; particularly Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator-Worked with Salesforce, Shopify, Google Analytics, and Hootsuite (Certified).

Took a gap year prior to university to establish a new business in conjunction with Gaylord Hardwood Flooring. This business was established to cater to new consumers in a particular target market. From opening day in January until August 2011 I became the leading salesman with over $400,000 in sales. My current status with the company is to develop innovative marketing strategies to increase sales in different markets. My most recent project consisted of creating www.gaylordflooringonline.com, where the company has taken away boundaries and increased sales in markets across North America. The implementation of the new online store also followed by changing the store experience and point of sale system, entirely using iPads for checkout. The entire process gives the customer the reassurance they are making the right choice when it comes to such an important purchase.
