Working with a talented team of bioinformaticians, software developers, next-generation sequencing (NGS) and clinical variant scientists, we are bringing to the market a new portfolio of highly validated, CAP/CLIA/ISO certified NGS-based diagnostics. These tests will improve clinicians' ability to understand the genetic bases of disease, thereby improving the lives of their patients and their patient's families.

I evaluate inventions for commercial viability and work to move promising technologies forward. Progress involves, technical development, funding, and management team identification and vetting. The majority of technologies I evaluate involve healthcare so I conduct extensive research into new reimbursements models and healthcare delivery models such as bundled payments, accountable care organizations, and integrated payor/providers. I have researched new reimbursement codes for patient reported outcomes and telehealth for delivery of healthcare to rural areas. Many technologies I review are digital health related. As such, I'm part of a working group on Fhir standards development through UU's department of Biomedical Informatics, I'm familiar with challenges managing patient health information and EMR interoperability using HL7 and Fhir. I've researchers evaluate systems for natural language processing that reduces readmission rates for the Veteran’s Administration. Work with faculty to develop novel mobile apps that incorporate gaming concepts to increase adoption and improved “stickiness” with patient populations. I regularly participate in on-campus programs to mentored students who are pursuing entrepreneurial activities. Specifically for mobile health technologies, I've participated in an Entrepreneurship class at the David Eccles School of Business. I'm a formal "connector" in the University Health Sciences' Imagine Perfect Care initiative to help catalyze value-based healthcare and make it a reality today. I also just completed an NIH I-Corps program in Washington, DC.

Working with an interdisciplinary team, assembled educational material for interactive sessions and workshops with Tech Transfer professionals from Polytechnic universities in Singapore. Materials covered multiple topics, including processes for evaluation of new inventions, intellectual property strategies, faculty and student outreach, and negotiation principles and tactics.
