David has been serving others in the capacity of financial advisor for over 15 years. He began his career at Farmers & Mechanics National Bank (F&M Bank) in 2000 and continued working for several different banks as a result of ongoing mergers and acquisitions. Each new organization sought to retain David to work on their team as a financial advisor serving the local community. In 2009, David became a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Practitioner and transitioned to open his own firm “Hemler Financial Group.” David earned his undergraduate degree in Management from Ottawa University. He also holds a license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner and is a Registered Respiratory Therapist to this day. As an experienced therapist, David taught students enrolled in the allied health care programs at Frederick Community College. It was there that David was introduced by one of his students to her husband, who happened to be a CFP® Practitioner managing a successful financial practice of his own. This meeting lead David to transition careers - from caring for others' physical well being, to caring for others' financial well being.David has resided in the Taneytown and Westminster communities most of his life. He has been active in various organizations over the years. David and his wife, Elaine, share the joys of five children and six grandchildren.
