The Code2040 Fellows Program is an intensive career accelerator for Black and Latinx college and graduate-level computer science students.

• Provide academic support and individualized tutoring to underserved middle school students• Implement program curriculum and activities to promote academic enrichment.• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records of attendance and participation.• Collaborate with program staff, teachers, and school administrators to address individual student needs.• Assist with program planning, coordination, and implementation of events and activities.• Follow program policies and procedures, including safety protocols.

In my role as a Student Assistant for the Department of Mechanical Engineering, I was responsible for serving as the first point of contact, addressing inquiries, and delivering exceptional customer service. Additionally, I provided valuable administrative support to the faculty and staff whenever needed.

I served as a facilitator for a one-week Python coding boot camp designed for middle school students. Together with a dedicated team of UCR STEM students, we actively delivered engaging Python programming lessons. We guided the students through hands-on coding exercises, focused on building their foundational programming knowledge and problem-solving skills. It was truly exciting to witness their curiosity being ignited and their passion for coding being fostered through the creative projects they worked on. By creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment, we promoted teamwork and collaboration among the students, which contributed to their overall success during the camp.
