Led the business improvement district responsible for the economic revitalization of the historic downtown center of the city of Raleigh and Wake County, North Carolina.1) Retail Economic Strategy and Implementation: Developed, managed and executed retail attraction strategy and developed retention and expansion programs to address the over 22% storefront vacancy rate in downtown Raleigh. Attracted over 200 storefront businesses, a full service grocery store, and created a variety of outdoor events and festivals programming that supported existing businesses by bringing over 500,000 event goers annually to downtown. Decreased retail vacancy to 4%! 2) Real Estate Development and Reuse: Served as primary liaison to the commercial real estate developer community in the region, providing research support and created real estate reports to enhance the appeal of downtown. Attracted over $2 billion in private and public capital investments in downtown.2) County Attraction Program: Provided support to the county economic development team that developed a strategy to position downtown as a headquarters for technology companies. Participated in recruitment team that led to the attraction of the global headquarters of Red Hat, a cloud computing firm, that added over 600 jobs and in milllions in capital investment. Supported the recruitment of the regional headquarters of citrix leading to over 400 jobs and in millions in capital investment.

Commisioned as an officer from Virginia Tech, while serving in the ROTC program. Served in a variety of roles from company commander to battalion operations officer and served a combat tour in Iraq from 2005 to 2006, receiving a bronze star.
