 Developed a new business strategy covering five years to cater for the business and data migration to the Cloud. Identified business shortfalls and technical challenges, and produced appropriate plans to mitigate the risks of moving to the Cloud. Designed and managed the end-to-end delivery of multiple I.T. solutions, involving business case development, funding estimation, business impact assessments, resource requirement analysis, solutions design and deployment. Developed proposals for program and project budgets, Return On Investment forecasts, outsourcing options and disaster recovery plans. Managed the end-to-end delivery of a Data Migration project. Planned and managed two large ERP and CRM implementation projects for a multinational retail business. Managed the developments and roll-outs of websites, including review and validation of website content, development of key messages for page headers and implementation of change control procedures.

 Established Tech Access as a channel development provider for Sun Microsystems in KSA. Provided leadership and direction to sales and technical teams to provide optimum services to partners. Identified and capitalised on business opportunities while effectively managing partner relationships. Re-engineered sales and order processing procedures to optimise service delivery. Formulated and implemented a business development strategy in collaboration with key partners.

 Designed and lectured on two systems delivery subjects to 3rd and 4th year students. Supervised the development and delivery of 7 projects, which involved mentoring students in the areas of project management, systems and application architecture and design, software development and change management and testing, implementation and deployment. Delivered several papers on business intelligence and artificial intelligence.

Mobile Number Portability Program Managed via a team of 15 project managers from Optus, IBM, HP, EDS, Accenture and CSC Australia. Established a steering committee, a core team, a war room and a change control board. Project plans were consolidated and tracked as one for the whole program. Managed the delivery of a web-based solution for mobile ported numbers through a separate team of five representatives from Optus and CSC Australia. Monitored the planning and delivery of the inter-Carrier network project with a team of 10 ACIF (Australian Communications Industry Forum) representatives including Optus, Telstra, Vodafone and Orange.Arbor Billing Program Planned, scheduled and managed the program through a core team of 18 project and product managers and conducted business impact assessments for 24 business units. Supervised all internal and external program, business and public communications through a communications team of six internal staff and media representatives. Designed and managed the development and implementation of the Arbor website through an outsourced agreement with CSC Australia.GST Testing program Produced a framework for testing which was applied to projects managed by software vendors, internal projects and business units. Reported to general managers and directors on testing strategy, including risk mitigation and business impact assessments.Business Continuity Year 2000 Manager Defined and produced business continuity and contingency plans for all business and technology areas (x24). These plans were approved by KPMG who reported that Optus had produced “best practice business continuity plans that the world can learn from.” Developed measurement procedures for enterprise testing. Managed the relocation project of the Data Centre with a team of 11 internal and vendor (HP) staff. Led the Y2K Central Helpdesk team (x14) during the rollover period into the year 2000.

Main Achievements- Managed the delivery of 23 projects simultaneously (up to $50m in budget) through a team of four project managers and eight business analysts;- Conducted five project assessments and produced associated improvement plans, which were implemented by project managers under my direction and supervision;- Planned and managed the implementation of a disaster recovery project through IBM and Compaq after producing and seeking approval for the business case from company directors;- Managed production platforms and associated services, and negotiated support contracts with I.T. suppliers (i.e. IBM and Digital) for the provisioning of resources, hardware and software products.
