The Data Quality and Architecture Specialist at the RNLI is responsible for maintaining and improving the quality of data across the organisation, while also designing and implementing data architecture which aligns to the target architecture, the agreed RNLI Common Data Model (CDM) and supports the organisation's data needs. This role requires a strong understanding of data quality and architecture, as well as the ability to work with large and complex datasets. This is a specialist role that has a focus on data and information platforms and associated technologies that contribute to the development of systems architectures. The Specialist will work closely with key stakeholders across the RNLI to identify data quality issues and develop solutions to address them. The role requires excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, as well as strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. The Specialist will also keep up to date with industry trends and best practices in data quality and architecture, and provide training and support to staff across the RNLI.

Job Overview: This role is to analyse and understand the impact of Data Quality Issues across the RNLI and to identify and help solve complex data quality problems. The role is critical to assisting the RNLI on its journey to proactively manage data quality, focusing on our most essential data and helping us discover, evaluate and document our data quality issues, and working across the institution, to help us resolve them.

The role of Data Quality Manager is to continually develop and Lead the Information Service to both internal and external stakeholders of the Treatment Centre and RSH. To act as a consultant in all areas of data collation and reporting, ensuring an effective recording of activity and monitoring of data quality The Data Quality Manager assists in the development of Management Information and reporting systems to support managers in the delivery of operational services. To provide proactive robust data analysis to aid management decisions.

Job Purpose: The main purpose of this role is to take responsibility for maintaining the highest levels of data quality across the Save the Children supporter base. Part of a dedicated team that ensures all the data that drives our Fundraising and Advocacy activities is of the highest quality and to lead the drive to embed the concept of excellent data quality across the organisation. To use your expert technical skills to identify areas of optimisation and root causes of issues, and develop robust solutions to address these.

Employed within Ageas 50 as a Data Quality Analyst; the work includes the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) of a new customer database to hold Ageas 50s 40 million individual records and a further 90 million contact history records. The role then evolved to include the development, testing and implementation of integrated, multi-product acquisition campaigns using the customer database to maximise the systems and sales potential. Further to this I became a point of contact to trouble shoot any problems discovered by the day-to-day users of the customer database and the identification of data quality issues in both the customer database and the legacy systems that feed it. Ageas 50 is a part of Ageas (UK), and is authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority (FSA). Achievements During Period• Internet Match back Project, this project allowed the Inbound and Internet teams within the marketing department to correctly allocate quotes and sales volumes, which had previously been double counted.• RIAS Relationship Project, this allowed the business to develop a phased program to communicate with customers starting with recognising the relationship in direct marketing (DM) campaigns.• Development of Integrated Campaign Matrix, This Matrix allowed the business to develop and execute integrated campaigns.• Promotion from Data Support Analyst to Data Quality Analyst.• Won a number of company awards as an individual and as part of a team.• Administered the raising of £35,000 for Marie Curie Cancer Care.• Served on the company Staff Forum (including Acting Chair)

Employed within CCR as a Data Analyst; the work entailed the receiving of data from clients in a wide variety of formats. The Data is then assessed for validity before being run against a wide range of data suppression files and the Post Office Address File (PAF). This included the identification of individuals who may be deceased and the updating of address information of customers who may have moved from the address held on the client database. The work involved the use of commercial software packages such as Microsoft Office, MatchIT, MailSort, SQL Server and a wide range of commercial and in-house database. CCR Data Limited is a QMP registered company.Achievements During Period• Responsible for the cleaning and updating of data for high-end retail clients such as Cartier, Chanel and Louis Vuitton.• Responsible for the updating of the company Suppression files. These files are a core element of the whole data cleaning process.• Developed a number of database and database analytical tools to enhance user capabilities.

Employed within Landair International as the Enterprise Resource Manager; the work included direct responsibility for application front-end development, database design and integration with Geographic Information Systems (GIS). The position included a large amount of hands on coding (Visual Basic) and consultancy with clients from initial project development through to client final acceptance and validation. Landair International was a QA-ISO 9000-3 TickIT company.Achievements During Period• Developed a family of military and Humanitarian Mine Action decision support and planning tools integrating Visual Basic, Databases and GIS packages.• Operational Analysis of Op Hamden (Bosnia 1991-1995) and Op Granby (Gulf War 1990-1991). This included the populating and, in Op Granby’s case, the development of an Operational Analysis database/GIS tool.• Designed and developed the GIS package currently in use within the UK’s Permanent Joint Headquarters (PJHQ) Targeting Cell to support operational and strategic target intelligence collation.

I served in the Royal Artillery. Initially this period was spent in Royal Artillery Command Posts producing firing solutions for the regiments weapon systems. This was followed by 8 years of employment in intelligence All Source Cells (ASC) at many levels of command. The latter involved giving advice on target selection at both the Tactical and Operational level for land and air borne platforms.Achievements During Period• Developed the Allied Rapid Reaction Corps (ARRC) Ground Order of Battle database. This database was the main tool used to monitor warring faction troop declarations in Bosnia following the Dayton Peace Agreement.• Deployed with HQ UNPROFOR (Sarajevo) as the Office Manager in the MILINFO Cell. The work included the analysis and collation of multi source intelligence relating to warring faction throughout the Balkans region. Responsible for the briefing of Senior VIP’s such as Commander UNPROFOR and the American Ambassador to Bosnia Herzegovina.• Assigned to HQ Land Command (Wilton) as part of the J2 (Intelligence) Cell to provide Intelligence Support to British Forces deployed in Bosnia Herzegovina. The work included the analysis and collation of multi-source intelligence relating to tracking the movement of warring faction heavy weapons throughout the region.• Supported the development of a Divisional level Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition and Reconnaissance (ISTAR) Cell. This cell is responsible for the tasking of surveillance assets, the collation of the resulting intelligence / targeting data and the prioritising of targets for attack.• Deployed with 1 (UK) Armd Division during the 1st Gulf War as an intelligence analyst in the Divisional All Source / Depth Battle Cell. The work included the analysis and collation of multi source intelligence and target selection during the artillery raids and throughout the ground war.
