As the Technical Lead of CerebralFix, I help to set the technical direction of the company. This includes developing the coding practices, standards and tools employed by the technical team, as well as creating reusable components for use in projects, and at times refactoring existing code into such components.An important part of my job is to advise the executive team (especially the CTO) on technological issues, and to provide technical sales support in our work-for-hire bids.I aim to be the voice of the developers to the executive team, and vice-versa. This means that I am heavily interested in advocacy, good working conditions, and proper adherence to Agile Development principles, all of which I believe are essential to help our developers to do what they do best.

Game Developer
As a Game Developer at CerebralFix, I have worked on a number of internal and work-for-hire game projects in C++ and Flash, as well as developing server-side code in C#.The projects I have worked on include the following. (Client-confidential details omitted.) - A real-time multiplayer 3D snowboarding game for web and mobile. - A mobile game that has reached the top of the iOS "Top Free" chart in over 100 countries. (We acted as extra development resource for the client's internal team on this project.) - A client/server framework for sharing game-state across multiple devices, including Facebook integration and in-app purchase support.My work has taken me into the depths of 100kLOC custom C++ game engines, the vast expanses of player/metrics databases in both MongoDB and SQL, and too many other exciting places to count. I've learned the joys of juggling Objective-C, JNI and Alchemy to make games that work in twice as many places for half the effort. I have developed a passion for creating high-quality, reusable code, and helping others do the same.
